Foundation Board of Directors
Members of the 100th Anniversary of Naval Aviation Foundation‘s Board of Directors share an appreciation for the rich history that began on May 8, 1911, when Captain Washington Irving Chambers prepared contract specifications for the Navy‘s first aircraft. The Foundation Board deeply appreciates the many contributions that all Naval Aviation personnel have made in peacekeeping, national security, exploration, and science. The Board hopes to use events associated with the Centennial to introduce a new generation to the rich history of Naval Aviation.
Today thousands of aircraft are undertaking missions in support of America‘s interests around the world. They are able to do so because of the dedication of active and reserve personnel, the civilian partners who provide material support and service to the Naval Aviation community as well as the ongoing support from the American public. By celebrating 100 years of progress, the Foundation is affirming its commitment to the next century of Naval Aviation.
